BugSpeak exhibit by Brian Swanson at the Las Vegas Springs Preserve will be coming down September 15th, 2013 after a nearly six year showing in the Nature Exchange. Special thanks to Jessica Hougen and the folks at this wonderful facility for having me and my bugs for such a great stay.
Artist Brian Swanson of Las Vegas, Nevada creates illustration, paintings and design for industrial to creative companies in Nevada and California. Also being a ‘pixelero’ his rendering styles have a broad range from his education in mechanical and technical aerospace illustration to a more tribal feel. The latter being his work called “Primitives”, a collection of mixed media paintings to naturalist style insect drawings called “Bug Speak.” Brian has also adapted a pen and ink collection of drawings for the Neon Museum Boneyard, aptly named “Drawings from the Boneyard.”
Brian has a permanent exhibit “Bug Speak” that has been at the Springs Preserve in Las Vegas for over 5 years, located in their Nature Exchange. He is also involved in teaching a 3-part creative workshop in line work, pastels and watercolor pencil drawing. Watch “The Illustrated Plant”.
A tenant in the Arts Factory, Las Vegas, and a contributor to the Las Vegas Downtown 18b Arts District and community since 1997. Mixed media works are on display daily, and First Friday events at the gallery inside Cricket Studio, where he is a partner and co-founder since 1987. Brian was also the Marketing Board Member for web design and print of the Contemporary Arts Center, Las Vegas. Brian is also an original steering committee member of First Friday and Whirlygig.
